Weight Watchers offers choices for those who want to lose weight. A plan, the “Points Plan,” assigns dieters a certain number of “points” per day. All foods are assigned a corresponding “points” value. The second plan, appoints Momentum Program (formerly called “Core” plan) a specific group of nutritious foods that can be eaten without having to keep track of points. Everything not on the approved list will spoil a certain amount of “points” that you have in reserve.
The aim of the “Core” plan is encouraging members to eat healthy, wholesome, nutritious foods that will satisfy hunger and encourage smart food choices. In addition, this is the perfect time to learn how to eat right portions. There are three rules to follow. First eat as much of the core foods that are required to feel satisfied. Second, if you want something that is not on the core food list, you must use your weekly quota of points. Third, strive to eat plenty of vegetables and fruit, choose whole-grain processed carbohydrates, including healthy oils every day (such as olive oil, flaxseed oil or sunflower oil), limiting sugar and alcohol and drink plenty of water.
What is allowed?
Core foods from all food groups and include vegetables (fresh, frozen or canned), fruit (fresh, frozen or canned), broth-based soups (no creamy ones), whole -wheat pasta, brown rice, potatoes, grains, high-fiber cereals , lean meat, poultry, fish, eggs, fat-free milk and dairy products, healthy oils, coffee, sugar-free beverages and spices (such as soy sauce, salsa, mustard, vinegar and hot sauce). The idea is to eat when you’re hungry and stop when you are satisfied.
