Food Guide Pyramid For Children

The food guide pyramid for children is designed to show children what food groups they need to eat every day, in addition to how many items from all groups must be consumed, to have a balanced diet that will keep them healthy.
Fruit
Children should eat three servings from the fruit group every day. These fruits are apples, bananas, pears, oranges, grapes and peaches.
Grain
Five servings of grains should be eaten by children daily. These include breads, cereals, rice, pancakes and pasta.
Melker
Children should have three servings from the milk group each day. Milk, yogurt, cheese, pudding and frozen yogurt are all part of the milk group.
Meat
Two items from the meat group should be eaten daily by children. These include fish, chicken, beef, pork, eggs, nuts and beans.
vegatables
Children should eat four servings from the vegetable group daily. Corn, carrots, green beans, broccoli and potatoes are all part of the vegetable group.
Fats and oils
There is no specific amount of fats and oils should be eaten per day. Both of these should be consumed in moderation.
