The Atkins diet is one of the few diets that will not leave you feeling hungry. Because diet includes protein and not processed carbohydrates, you have a feeling of being full, unlike calorie-restrictive diets that can leave you feeling hungry. induction
During the induction phase, you can eat up to 20 net carbs per day to jump start your weight loss. Feel free to eat as much fish, shellfish, poultry, meat and eggs. Avoid meat that has been treated with sugar or containing nitrates, such as cold cuts and bacon. Also note that oysters and mussels are higher in carbs than other shellfish, so limit intake to about 4 grams a day. In this second stage, you can enter some dairy products like cottage cheese and heavy whipping cream. Some fruit can also be added in the second phase. Fruits that are widely acceptable berries-strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and melons-cantaloupe and honeydew. Avoid fruits like oranges, apples, watermelons and bananas because they are high in natural sugars. You can have a little lemon juice, lime juice and tomato juice to post recipes. Nuts are also allowed in the second phase: almonds, cashews, pecans and walnuts. You can also find practical Atkins diet bars at retail and health stores that are allowed in this second phase. Pre-Maintenance
