Acid reflux can be painful. It happens when food and stomach acid moves in the wrong direction in our body. Healing Acid reflux can be easy to do if you practice these simple steps that will help you feel better
Do not eat anything that contains tomato sauce, or fruit juice past 6:00 p.m.. The acid will irritate acid reflux problem and is best avoided a few hours before bedtime.
Do not overeat. Stop eating when you are full. Acid reflux begins when there is too much food in the digestive tract.
Raise your head while you sleep.
Drink plenty of water during the day, and keep water near the bed during the night. If you feel acid reflux start, drink water to alleviate acid.
Use a calcium-based acid preventer such as Tums, Maalox, Mylanta and Prevacid. These work well to reduce the production of acid and pain it can cause.
