Many people find themselves dieting throughout the year, but when the holidays come around that diet often disappears. You do not forget healthy eating plan just because two of the biggest eating day, Thanksgiving and Christmas is around the corner. There are ways to ensure you do not lose all the progress you’ve made throughout the year
Plan ahead. Make a list of upcoming events. This will give you a better idea of how much you eat to do and how to prepare for it.
Stay on track. Do not give yourself permission to completely scrap everything you’ve done so far. If you exercise and eat right, continue to do so throughout the holiday.
Give yourself room for error. ou know you may be tempted to eat any sweets or fatty foods over the holidays. Do not beat yourself up if you do it. Be sure to balance the fatty foods with lots of lean foods. Do not think that just because you had a piece of chocolate cake that now the whole diet is ruined. It is not.
Prepare for large dining events. Potluck dinners and buffet dinner is common during the holidays. When you go, make sure you are not too hungry. Eat a large salad before yesterday, so you are a bit crowded. When you get there, take a walk around the food table. Survey all first rather than grabbing a plate and digging right in. Choose foods that you really want to eat rather than mindlessly fill your plate with food.
Enjoy yourself. The holidays are a time of joy and cheer. Do not be so concerned about eating that you miss the good times. Focus on people and events that you enjoy most.
